Reflection
Assalamualaikum…Thank Allah for everything. This semester, My Priciples of English Language Teaching (ELE 3102 ) subject is taught by Mr. Azman bin Mohamed Nor.We were asked to finish the assignment according to coursework given in 15 August 2010. We were required to collect and compile information from all related articles about this subject. So, I went to library to collect the information and find it in the internet. We also collect the information from articles and books. After we have done a few researches, we have to build concept maps and a few notes and summary regarding to the information compiled.
The concept map has to be build based on our understanding regarding to the articles. From the articles, we have used the understanding and create own way to make a short notes and mind maps. From this activity, I have learn how find the key words and understanding the question requirements. The topic was quiet general. So, it was depending on ourselves how to finish the job and make it quiet presentable. From this activity, I also have understood more and have gone deeper about the subject. This is because I have to understand the articles and acquire it before the mind map construction. So, I hope this knowledge could be used for examination and more in the future in being a good teacher
For the next task, my friends and I were required to make a daily lesson plan as the task given. We have chosen a year five topic, Animals in the farm. So, we all together have discussed and decided to make a power point slideshow and a video regarding the animals in farm. The commitment given by all members were completely helping in the coursework finishing. Although, we have faced a few problems such as decision making, lack of ideas and time shortage. Therefore, we have divided all the works to each members of the group. So, they have their own work to be done.
After we have done the lesson plan and the slide show, we have to present it in macro-teaching in the class. So have to carry out the lesson plan complete the lesson for half an hour. Once again the each member was given a certain task in the teaching. All the feed back were accepted and analyzed in a report. The suggestions and recommendations were written in pair work. This report is really important so we may know our level and ability to a teacher. These activities trained us in how to be a great teacher. From here, we might see our strengths and weaknesses in teaching. So I really hope that I could improve my teaching skills and be more confident in order to be a good teacher.
Even I have faced many problems while doing these tasks. I have managed to finish the assignment as well as I can. The problems faced such as misconception about the task, mechanical problem and many more. I also have to finish the task with other subject assignment. Therefore, I really have to manage my time properly and spent a few time for this assignment. I really felt grateful after my friend and I have finished the task given steps by step and time by time. Therefore, here I would like to thanks Mr Azman bin Mohamed Nor for his help and guide. Without him, maybe I could not finish the task and fulfill the task acquirements. So, once again I would like to say thanks for those who involved in finishing this coursework. Thank you.
